What is mastic?

Mastic is a binder organic mass, into which various additives are introduced, thus receiving material with different properties. Rubber, all kinds of plasticizers, various fillers, various resins allow you to get different types of mastic for various tasks. A large number of its varieties are used in construction.

Bitumen mastic performs waterproofing, used in finishing work, is perfectly capable of combining some materials among themselves and so on.

Polymer mastics are mixed by synthetic rubber and solvent, vulcanizing components. They have unique adhesion and elasticity. Used to ensure waterproofing, when installing a roof. Polymeric materials are preferable than bitumen.

Road mastics are used in road construction. This is a plastic and viscous adhesive mass. It is made by mixing binding organic components and special additives. It is successfully used to eliminate cracks and cracks, ensure sealing.

Adhesive mastics are actively used in construction in order to make a lining of structures, for example. For these purposes, silicate, polymer and mixed mastics are also used for these purposes. In roofing and waterproofing – adhesive bitumen mastics. For work related to tiles – adhesive to polymers.

They are also divided into hot and cold. The latter contain a solvent and do not require mandatory heating. Bitumen is both cold and hot. The base for them is the bitumen obtained as a result of oil refining.

They are not afraid of alkalis, salts and acids, are able to dissolve in oil products, fats and oils. The disadvantage of bitumen mastics is their fragility. Rubber crumbs are introduced into their composition. This is how improved material turns out – flexible, resistant to the external environment, extended.

Polymer Bitumen mastic stand to heat, it has high elasticity and resistance to heat.

Water -repellent mastic is based on butyl. It is used as a sealant in cases of moisture protection.

Mastic has proven itself well, the basis of which is low molecular weight compounds of oilibids, polypropylene, polyethylene.

There are also special anti -corrosion mastics.
